Loud success at Bátor Tábor’s silent auction

Budapest Art Fair organisers set up a four day auction to sell art created by contemporary artists and chronically ill children.

Bátor Tábor Alapítvány’s work relates to art on many levels and in particular to the fine arts. There is a strong focus placed on dance, music, drama and handcrafts therapy at our camps for seriously ill children. In addition, over the past few years the organisation’s donation-collection activities have been strongly connected to Hungary’s contemporary artists. Besides the charity auction that is organised each year, the Tábor also initiated the Tehénparádé (Cow Parade) held in 2006 and 2007, and the AdventArt event held in 2007.

Zsuzsi Csiszér, Katalin Verebics, László Karácsonyi, Gyula Várnai and András Whaom immediately accepted our request for them to be Bátor Tábor and Art Fair organisers. The thousands of visitors to the four day exhibition were able to witness the creative process taking place and the kind of opportunities for self expression that the Bátor Tábor makes available to seriously ill children. The attendees were able to then buy the art at the silent auction that was organised on site.

The auction was an unexpected success, with exceptionally high donations to the sum of 2,173,000Ft. All proceeds help Bátor Tábor Alapítvány in their work. The kind hearted bids were made by one of our main sponsors, CIB Bank, who supported not only the Budapest Art Fair, but also called the three highest bids to the generous sum of 1,200,000Ft.

The events success can be measured in smiles and unforgettable memories, not just Forint, and we believe this counts also. CIB Group has always supported its communities with a sense of respect and social responsibility. „The relationship that exists between Bátor Tábor and CIB is a fine example of a social organisation and a profit-orientated establishment being able to work together successfully” stated Zsuzsanna Kozák, CIB Bank’s Marketing Executive.
